Star Wars fans don't have long to wait for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to come to Sky Cinema.
It’s time for another epic trip to everyone’s favourite far, far away galaxy as Godzilla director Gareth Edwards serves up the first of three stand-alone adventures.
The story is the same as it ever was, with a small, ragtag group of rebels banding together and embarking on a daring, against-all-odds mission to thwart the planet-destroying plans of the fascistic Galactic Empire. Chief among them are fugitive Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), defecting Imperial pilot Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed) and seasoned resistance fighter Cassian Andor (Diego Luna, superb). The result? An exhilarating slice of popcorn entertainment told with style, imagination, loving attention to detail and – best of all – moments of pure, nostalgia-bath magic.
The film will premiere this August on Sky Cinema.
Other highlights in August include Trolls, in which the rainbow-coloured critters with those familiar, gravity-defying hairdos get their very own movie, and – somewhat surprisingly – it’s not all fun and games. Their carefree existence comes to a screeching halt when a bash hosted by Princess Poppy (Anna Kendrick) attracts the unwanted attention of a tribe of hideous, Troll-munching ogres known as Bergens. A number of villagers are captured and whisked away, so Poppy must join forces with disgruntled, non-singing survivalist Branch (Justin Timberlake, who also serves as executive music producer) and launch a daring rescue mission. Director Mike Mitchell (The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water) and Kung Fu Panda writers Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger inject a welcome dose of knowing humour.
