Richard Ashcroft set for Radio 2 session to promote new album These People.

After a six-year hiatus, Richard Ashcroft is back with a new album and will performs a live acoustic session for Radio 2 listeners next month.

The former frontman of The Verve will join Jo Whiley, to play music from his upcoming new solo record, These People, which is released in May. His fourth album as a solo artist was recorded in London and was produced by Richard with long-time collaborator Chris Potter. The record also sees him reuniting with Wil Malone, who worked with Richard on the string arrangements on the seminal albums by The Verve – 1995’s A Northern Soul and 1997’s Urban Hymns – as well as his platinum-selling and critically-acclaimed debut solo album, Alone With Everybody.
