The international smash hit musical comedy Hairspray the Musical is back with a brand new UK tour for 2017.

Baltimore, 1962. Tracy Turnblad is a big girl with big hair and an even bigger dream: to dance her way onto national TV, and into the heart of teen idol Link Larkin. Tracy’s audition makes her a local star and soon she is using her new-found fame to fight for integration. But can she win equality – and Link’s heart – without denting her ‘do?

Hairspray! starts with Tracy's mesmerising performance of Baltimore and the engery doesn't stop from therein, giving the audience a great evening of entertainment.

The cast are full of enthusiasm and energy throughout the show, making it so contagious, you want to be up there with them! There are moments of hilarity that will make you laugh out loud, one highlight being Edna & Wilbur and their song / dance, which is both brilliant and amusing.

The bright colours of the costumes and the characters on the stage are wonderful, particular stand outs being Tracy, Link, Penny & Edna. The show culminates in a jaw dropping performance of the lively 'Motion of the Ocean' which has the audience on their feet dancing wins a well deserved standing ovation for the cast night after night.
