Channel 5 unveil new on air branding.
Channel 5 have unveiled its new on-air branding, which is the first refresh since owners Viacom bought the channel last year.
Like Channel 4's branding, the new logo includes the number five which breaks up into pieces and animates around the screen. Contemporary messaging will also feature, as will new idents including a film of five whales emerging from the sea.
“We didn’t want to make them just about the logo, we wanted to create moments of entertainment in their own right,” said Jo Bacon, who's in charge of Marketing for the channel and its sister channels which include five star.
The rebrand also includes a new name for 5's on demand service, which will now be called My5.
