When does JK Rowling's Strike series begin on BBC One?

The wait is almost over, JK Rowling's Strike series will debut on BBC One this August Bank Holiday Weekend.

In the first story, Strike - The Cuckoo's Calling, Supermodel Lula Landry falls to her death from a Mayfair balcony. The police conclude that she committed suicide.

Robin Ellacott, a newly engaged 20-something temp from Yorkshire, is sent to the Denmark Street offices of private investigator Cormoran Strike. It is an awkward first meeting.

Then John Bristow arrives. He believes that his adopted sister Lula was murdered and the police have overlooked key evidence. Penniless, and effectively homeless after separating from his girlfriend, Strike takes the case.

Cormoran Strike is played by Tom Burke, Robin Ellacott by Holliday Grainger, Lulu Landry by Elarica Johnson, John Bristow by Leo Bill, Derrick Wilson by Brian Bovell, Tansy Bestigui by Tara Fitzgerald, Nico Kolovas-Jones by David Avery, Rochelle Onifade by Tezlym Senior-Sakutu, and Tony Landry by Martin Shaw.

The first episode  will air at 9pm on Sunday 26 August.  Is is understood the second episode will air on Bank Holiday Monday 27 August.
